Love it or hate it – JavaScript is here to stay. JavaFX, Flash, Flex, Silverlight, Apollo – they’re all fun but JavaScript is what we have today and for a long time to come.

We were debating the question of whether Atlassian is a startup anymore last week.
When exactly does a startup stop being a startup?
Do we still count? (with ~100 employees & ~$20m in revenue)
Dan Farber took a poll on this at ZDNet a month ago and the top rating response to the question was when the startup is “profitable and finally figuring a viable business model”.

Just wanted to put up a short plug for MuleSource. Ross and David over at MuleSource are really rocking along at the moment – I think the American’s call it “kicking ass and taking names”.

I have to say I’m getting a little sick of Google recruitment spam. Does anyone else get pestered every few months by the behemoth? I suppose I should blame Bob or someone for trying to get a referral bonus.

After 5 years, we’re busting at the seams in our current Sydney office.

Yesterday TechCrunch covered a new time tracking startup called RescueTime.
The idea itself appealed to me. From the vague “semi-stealth” website, it’s like HackyStat for all knowledge workers not just developers. It seems to be a desktop application that uploads information on what apps and websites you’re using to the web so that you can accurately track your time.
I know I would love to see that information. I can’t wait for them to launch.
