Spin Java Petition – what a waste of time
No offense to those involved, but I have to think that the “Spin Java Petition”:http://www.jroller.com/page/asj/20031006#please_sign_new_spin_java is a _complete_ waste of time.
Despite what the community says, Sun isn’t going to spin off Java as a separate company – it’s far too commercially valuable to them. As a company struggling to learn to compete in the post-dotcom era, why on earth would they want to get rid of the one thing that is going well for them?
Do I want them to spin it off? Personally, no – I think that would be a bad idea.
Does it matter if I want them to? Hell no.
