JBoss Nukes ‘only’ Open Source Java CMS? Bullshit!
Apologies for the strong language (hey, Australians are like that) – but “this sort of post”:http://www.oreillynet.com/pub/wlg/3269 really pisses me off. Dion is a great guy, but he is in the wrong ballpark on this one. (Or as they say in the movie “He ain’t even playing the same sport”)
Marc is just as off base (although we’ve come to expect it now haven’t we?) with his bluster:
bq. Java folk can be snobbish when it comes to modern infrastructure–God knows our JBoss crowd is –but at the end of the day there was no open source Java CMS engine source when we looked.
There are plenty of open source Java CMS systems that are very viable. “JPublish”:http://www.jpublish.org? “OpenCMS”:www.opencms.org? “Cofax”:http://www.cofax.org? “Red Hat CMS”:http://www.redhat.com/software/rhea/cms/? “Jahia”:http://www.jahia.org/jahia/Jahia (not totally open source)? “MMBase”:http://www.mmbase.org/?
This is just another case of an arrogant leadership and the “not invented here” syndrome. Sadly if affects far too many open source projects.
Who is really being snobbish here Marc?
