Fred is on a Hani mission
Fred’s blog is on a complete Hani-mission at the moment. Apparently SCO, java.net, Apple and JavaPro have all ‘pulled a Hani’ in the past week. That’s a lot of bile!
His definition is as follows:
bq. What is a Hani? Its the desire to make noise in a technical debate with no facts to back up conjecture and only personal attacks to defend a technical point, ie just another name for FUD. Thus the phrase SCO Group pulled a HANI.
Sadly this definition is completely off-base. Hani’s posts are full of facts. Sure, they’re written in a bileous style (see the blog title?) but they’re still solidly grounded in fact. I’m sure he loves the fact that his name is now a verb! I’ll ask him on Tuesday in NY ![]()
Unless Fred was trying to be clever? (His definition of a Hani is actually self referential – as the definition is FUD, therefore a Hani in itself – clever!)
